    Interesting view, but I disagree with his conclusion. Yes, there was initial confusion over the facts, as there is with any kind of breaking news. Such is life in a live broadcast world.

    In everything I saw, reporters went out of their way to avoid casting aspersions on Muslims or Islam. It was only with subsequent revelations (a variety of aberrant behaviors and anti-U.S. statements, being on the FBI’s radar) that I heard anything about it being a religiously motivated act of terror.
